Welcome to Studio Scamps, the London-based design studio founded by Shaun Campbell in 2011. We specialise in using design and illustration to solve communication problems and bring stories to life.
At Studio Scamps, we see 2D design not as a side act but as the core storyteller in museum exhibitions. Our commitment is evident in every project, where we elevate the role of design beyond mere typesetting. We let our portfolio speak for itself, showcasing our creative approach and belief in the power of graphics to enhance the exhibition narrative or any creative project.
Clients consistently discover a level of high-quality design that exceeds expectations, even for modest budgets. Our forte is illustration—a visual language that bridges the gap when words alone fall short.
Driven by a commitment to excellence rather than empty bravado, we thrive under pressure. Tight timelines aren't obstacles but opportunities to showcase our efficiency and creativity.
As clear communicators, we prioritise understanding your brief and executing projects beautifully. Let our work demonstrate why clients trust us to bring their visions to life.
Diversity and Inclusion Statement
At Studio Scamps, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential pillars of creativity and innovation. As a company that collaborates with a wide range of partners, contractors, and clients, we are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
We understand that our industry thrives on ideas, and the best ideas come from diverse minds and experiences. Whether through our designs, partnerships, or community involvement, we actively embrace and celebrate differences in culture, background, abilities, and viewpoints.
Our commitment is informed by leading industry resources, including the Design Council’s Inclusion by Design report and guidance from the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). These resources help us stay aligned with best practices, ensuring our approach is grounded in the latest thinking on inclusivity within the design and fabrication industry.
Additionally, we are dedicated to understanding the unique needs of potential employees or collaborators, whether practical, related to communication styles, or addressing gaps in knowledge due to cultural differences. Our approach is to treat people how they want to be treated, ensuring that everyone feels supported, heard, and able to thrive within our team.
As part of this, we actively seek out and engage with creative collaborators from marginalised and underrepresented groups, such as people of colour in type design and women in exhibit fabrication. We prioritise working with individuals and businesses that reflect diverse backgrounds and experiences, ensuring that our projects are informed by a variety of perspectives.
Environment and Sustainability
Studio Scamps is committed to delivering visually appealing and sustainable designs that prioritise environmental and social integrity. We use repurposed or recycled materials, emphasising non/low plastic-based products such as polypropylene vinyl and uncoated papers. Our inks are carefully selected to be free of heavy metals and toxic elements, promoting biodegradability.
In the printing process, we avoid UV and solely utilise water-based latex inks, eliminating solvents and adopting biodegradable ink for eco-friendly solutions. When collaborating with graphics contractors, we choose those using the latest printing presses, designed for efficiency and consuming 50% less electricity.
Our sustainable practices are deeply ingrained in our company ethos, making them integral to our exhibition design approach. For the Sibsey Trader Mill project, our consistent application of these approaches will ensure that our designs align with the project’s broader goal of environmental responsibility.
